Lawrence Kurt Edmonds LL.B (Hons), B.Com, CA
Senior Partner

Kurt is originally from Auckland and graduated from Auckland University with both a Law degree (1976) and a Commerce degree (1975). He worked for a firm of chartered accountants in Auckland whilst studying, then moved to Matamata to join the firm (then Edmonds, Wilson Marshall & Co) and has been with the partnership since 1976.

Kurt works mainly in the areas of property law (rural & commercial), succession planning, trusts, estates and elder law.

Kurt is married to Lynne and they have three adult children. Outside of work Kurt can generally be found on the Matamata golf course or fishing at Mount Maunganui.

Jonathan Shane Marshall LL.B
Partner

Shane joined the firm as a law clerk in 1982 and then graduated Auckland University in 1983. He became a partner of the firm in 1988.

Shane’s preferred areas of law are property law (rural, commercial & residential), succession planning, trusts, estates and elder law. Shane has also been a director of First Mortgage Trust since 1998.

His personal interests include following his children’s activities and recently travelled with his wife Dawn to see his daughter, Penelope, win a Silver Medal in the 4x200m freestyle relay at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi. Shane tries to keep fit with regular swimming and running but age is catching up with him.

David John Parker LL.B
Partner

David grew up in Waihi on a dairy farm and graduated from Auckland University with his law degree in 1992. He joined the Katikati branch of the then firm in 1998. David later moved to Matamata and became an associate of Edmonds Marshall, becoming a partner in 2006.

David deals with relationship property matters, family law, employment law, property law (rural, commercial & residential), succession planning, trusts, estates and elder law.

David is married to Michelle. Both are keen trampers and sometime road cyclists. David is also a Rotary member. His other interests include his YZF250.

Holly Louise Barron BA, LL.B
Staff Solicitor

Holly joined Edmonds Marshall in 2008. She graduated from Canterbury University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Political Science and from the University of Otago in 2003 having completed an LLB. Holly is also qualified as a solicitor of England & Wales. Since admission to the bar in 2004 Holly has worked for law firms in Christchurch and international law firms in London.

Holly works in mainly in the property, commercial, company and trusts areas.

Holly spends her spare time dairy farming and looking after her husband.

Keith Wells
Trust Service Manager

Keith joined the firm in December 2000, after a long career in the banking industry, as our Trust Service Manager which involves managing the firm’s Family Trusts to ensure the Trusts are compliant. Keith completed his Legal Executive Certificate in 2008.

Keith enjoys most sports on a social basis and is currently enjoying playing golf.

Kathy Enevoldsen BMS
Legal Executive

Kathy started at Edmonds Marshall in 1993, shortly after she graduated from the University of Waikato with a Bachelor of Management Studies majoring in accounting. She began doing legal executive work for Shane several years later. She assists Shane with commercial and rural conveyancing, subdivisions and trusts.

Kathy’s husband and teenage daughter keep her busy after hours.

Sue Coatham
Legal Executive

Sue started in December 1999 as a part time word processor operator. In 2002 she commenced studying for the Legal Executive Certificate and qualified in 2005. Sue currently works as one of Shane’s legal executives doing residential conveyancing and estate work.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and relaxing.

Kylie Munro-Cross
Legal Executive

Kylie has worked for Edmonds Marshall since August 2006 and has recently obtained her Legal Executive Diploma. She is David Parker’s legal executive.

Outside of work she spends her time trying to catch fish and riding her dirt bike.

Suzanne Milburn
Legal Secretary

Suzanne moved to Matamata from Auckland in 2007 and began working for Edmonds Marshall in 2008. She is a legal secretary for Kurt Edmonds, specialising in estate work.

Suzanne has three adult children and is an avid reader, belonging to a book club which provides her with a wide variety of reading material. She also loves movies, theatre and music.

Colleen Kruger
Legal Secretary

Colleen is originally from South Africa and immigrated to New Zealand at the end of 2007. She has been working for Edmonds Marshall for about 2½ years and works for Kurt Edmonds.

Colleen is married, has two children and loves going for walks, bike riding and having a traditional South African “braai” (BBQ) with friends.

Julie Jamieson
Legal Executive

Julie started working for the firm in 1990 as a Legal Executive for Shane. Julie also has her Legal Executive Certificate. She has continued to work for the firm on and off between raising two sons, who are now teenagers and working with her husband on their dairy farm at Manawaru. She now works part time for Kurt. She enjoys gardening and catching up with friends.

Heather Bond
Accountant

Heather is the longest serving staff member of Edmonds Marshall starting in 1983. Heather is our accountant and the go to person for First Mortgage Trust deposits and withdrawals.

Heather is also an active participant in the local tramping club and drama society. She is also the proud grandmother of 4 grandchildren.

Leeza Cook
Receptionist

Leeza started in September 2008 as receptionist. She began her Legal Executive Diploma in March 2009 which she has found to be very interesting. All going well she should graduate in May 2012.

Outside of work she enjoys spending time at the beach and with family and friends.
